A former Englewood mayor, teacher and high school sports coach will soon step down as the executive director of the Greater Englewood Chamber of Commerce, topping off what the chamber said is a life of community service that goes back four decades.

Randy Penn will retire April 1, the chamber said in a news release.

“Randy leaves big shoes to fill,” the release said. “And we're not really looking for another Randy … as if there could ever be one! What we do need is an individual who is willing and committed to work with us to transition to the next phase of our organizational life. Englewood is a unique community with a deep history of service. The business community is diverse, and the chamber's mission includes connecting, promoting and strengthening businesses to enhance the community's economic vitality and quality of life.”

The chamber is asking for help spreading the word that it is seeking a new executive director, a position that is currently part-time, the release said.

“This is a great opportunity for the right individual to build on the vitality and dynamic of the larger Englewood community,” the release said.
