What makes you the best choice for this office?

I have been serving the Thornton community for almost 20 years by teaching youth and adults relationship skills and helping them create strong families. I do not have all the answers but I know how to listen to people and build unity to allow us to work to find solutions together. I care about people and want to serve.

What can the Legislature do to ease the strain of rising housing prices on Colorado residents?

The legislature can reduce regulation and allow innovation and the free market to work. The more government gets involved, the more things cost.

What can be done to ensure the state's transportation system will be able to accommodate continued population growth?

Here are just a few ideas:

1. Manage and reduce expenses, then direct more toward transportation.

2. Stop building HOV lanes and focus on greater capacity for everyone.

3. Plan and build for 20 years in the future and not just for today.

4. Seek out the experts and not just listen to politicians.

5. Listen to the people and hear their ideas.

What two issues demand more attention in the upcoming Legislative session than they received in the previous one, and why?

Education - We are failing our kids. We need big changes like allowing parents/students to choose schools that meet their needs and expectations. Allow innovation and free markets to create a system that gives students, teachers, and parents more.

Public Service - We as individuals can take care of each other better (and cheaper) than any government program. Colorado needs to encourage this while also using non-Government organizations to perform state services.

If elected, what must you accomplish in order for you to consider your term a success?

1. I want people to feel hope and believe a politician can listen and be real.

2. Encourage and inspire people to serve one another

3. Improve education

4. Reduce budget expenses

5. Reduce regulation and government intrusion

6. Set a path toward a long-term transportation plan
