The Tigers dispatched Denver North 15-0 in 2 1/2 innings and Berthoud 10-0 in six innings to move into the state tournament. It begins Friday, Oct. 23, at Aurora Sports Park, East Colfax Avenue east of Tower Road.
Holly Family scored eight times in the first inning against Denver North. Jordan Peterson had three hits and drove in as many runs. Vanessa Arambula had a base hit and two RBIs. Sierra Nanez had two RBIs. Ava Kuszak added two base hits. Starting pitcher Isabella Arroyo struck out four in two innings of work.
Arroyo had a base hit and three RBIs in the win over the Spartans. She also was the winning pitcher and struck out 11. Makaila Mossburgger had two hits and drove in two runs. Abby Edwards had two base hits and an RBI.
The state pairings are due out Monday, Oct. 18.
