Why are you seeking this office?

I’m on team GSD (getting things done). With care and deliberate pressure we can make improvements — one street light at a time, if need be.

What makes you the best person for the job?

I play nicely with others. My opponent has been instrumental in blowing up the Green Mountain Water Board. I don’t want to see City Council turn into the Water Board

What are your top three priorities if elected?

More dog parks. 2 wheeler safety, No Soviet Style Apt Blocks scattered willy nilly around Lakewood. A fair Short Term Rental Ordinance. High tech traffic lights to move traffic smoother.

Has city hall done an appropriate job in implementing the citizen-approved growth ordinance?

Yes. They have to — it’s the law.

What is one part of the city that you feel could definitely use more council attention, and why?

The intersection of Morrison Road and Bear Creek Blvd. There’s been almost an accident there every day for the past week. It’ll take years but a roundabout there would make it much safer.

Rick Olver, Election 2021, Ward 4
