Deceased man found at Englewood bus stop

Cause of death currently not believed to be criminal in nature

Police announced Wednesday that a deceased man was found at the north bus stop at Englewood Parkway and South Acoma Street, which is located near King Soopers.

The Englewood Police Department said via Facebook that at 8:33 a.m. on March 15, officers were dispatched to an unresponsive male at the bus stop. Officers arrived and located a deceased adult male, per the post.

Detectives with the Englewood Police Department and an investigator from the Arapahoe County Coroner’s office responded to investigate, according to the post.

“The preliminary findings do not point to the cause of death as being criminal in nature,” the police department said.

Professional Standards Bureau Sergeant Ed Disner said the man was “likely a transient … that’s why it was outside.”

“Nothing suspicious,” Disner said. “It was likely a natural death. It’s still under investigation, of course, with the coroner’s office.”
