Snow means closures

The snow is falling, which means closures were numerous

27J Schools, Adams 14 Schools, Adams 12 Schools District 50 Schools and the Weld Re-8 School District wll be closed Wednesday, Jan. 18, because of a forecast of up to a foot of snow. Holy Family High School in Broomfield is also closed.

City offices in Fort Lupton, the Fort Lupton Public & School Library, Coyote Creek Golf Course and the city's recreation center, closed. Those with frozen pipes should call 303-994-3540.

Aims Community coll.ege closed its campuses for Jan,. 18 because of the storm. A tweet said students will shift to remote learning.  St. Vrain Valley School District school students will learn remotely Jan. 18. District schools will be closed to in-person learning.

The closures also mean high-school extracurricular activities are canceled.

The closures also extend to the city of Brighton, the city of Northglenn and the city of Thornton and its recreation centers,  Commerce City offices closed as well, despite an earlier hope of opening for business at mid-day.

Most area districts canceled after-school activities the afternoon of Jan. 17 in anticipation of the storm.
