A Douglas County woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a 3-month-old child at the woman's in-home daycare.

Amanda Anderson, 34, runs a daycare business out of her home in unincorporated Douglas County, just west of Parker, according to a news release from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Oct. 13.

DCSO deputies were dispatched to a medical assist at 2:28 p.m. By the time deputies had arrived, South Metro Fire Rescue responders transported the baby to a nearby hospital. The baby was unconscious and not breathing, according to the DCSO release, and she was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Anderson is being charged with child abuse resulting in death, a class 2 felony.

Anderson received seven cease-and-desist orders from the Colorado Department of Human Services, the release states, five of which were issued prior to the infant's death. Deputies arrested Anderson shortly before 4:30 p.m. Oct. 13, and she was booked into the Douglas County jail. She is being held on $50,000 bond.

The letters issued by CDHS stated Anderson illegally operated a daycare at her home for four years. The first of the seven letters is dated Sept. 16, 2016.

The investigation is still active, the release states, and no further information was available.
