The Arvada Police Department issued a pre-evacuation notice for residents of Candelas, Leyden Rock and Whisper Creek at about 5 p.m. on Dec. 30 in response to the Marshall Fire.
The pre-evacuation notice alerts residents to be alert and prepared to leave if an evacuation notice is given. Arvada Police Public Information Officer Dave Snelling said that if the fire spreads south past Highway 128, the department expects to issue an evacuation notice.
“When an evacuation notice is requested, they need to be prepared to leave immediately from Candelas, Leyden Rock and Whisper Creek,” Snelling said.
