After a year off due to the pandemic, King Henry and the Colorado Renaissance Festival have returned to Douglas County for the 2021 season. Opening in early July, the festival, in its 44th year, continues over eight weekends through Aug. 22.

As in years past, visitors can experience a magical tour through time and legend. The village streets and pathways are filled with master revelers, artisans working hard to create original works of art, and let ye not forget the food and beverages.

The entertainment brings the show alive with live music, plus shows displaying a variety of talents from Cydeshow Cy swallowing real swords, to an angelic performer serves as a "live fountain."

Food is also a popular draw. From the King's Pantry, visitors can enjoy some steak on a stick, or the pork tails and turkey legs from Canterbury Kitchens. Throughout the entire village, there is an abundance of beer options.

Part of the magic of the annual festival, held in Larkspur, is the abundance of visitors coming in full costume, engaging fully in the spirt of the past.
