State 5A golf: Legacy's Cerretani finishes prep career at state tournament

DENVER --Legacy's Ben Cerretani finished his high-school career with a 56th-place showing at the state 5A golf tournament at City Park. He turned in scores of 74-79 -- 153 .

His second-round birdies came on the par-5, 558-yard ninth hole and on the par-5, 601-yard 16th hole. In the opening round, his one birdie came on the par-4, 448-yard fourth hole.

Sophomore Luke Tourault's first trip to the state meet ended with a scorecard of 79-76 -- 155, which put him in 63rd place after tie-breakers. His birdie came on the par-4, 380-yard 10th hole.

Horizon's Cooper Brennan, a freshman, finished with a 74-78 -- 152, good for 53rd place after tie-breakers. He recored a birdie on the part-5, 472-yard 13th hole. In the opening round, he birdied the par-3, 152-yard fifth hole and the par-4, 434-yard 15th hole.

Westminster's Bielly Phasay finished 41st, after tie-breakers, with a 77-72 -- 149 scorecard. with a 7-over 77. He birdied the par-4, 430-yard first hole and the par-4, 376-yard third hole in his second round.
