The two performers that make up the Great Dubois Circus came at their act from different angles.
Viktoria Grimmy was inspired growing up with her family of circus performers — a family history under the big top that goes back five years.
Partner Michael Dubois is a relative newcomer by comparison. When Dubois was five, the circus inspired him when his grandmother took him to Ringling Brothers, Barnum, and Bailey Circus. Somehow, he made it his career.
"I have been doing this for 20 years, and my wife Vikoria her whole life," Dubois said.
The pair brought their two-person comedy circus show to the Adams County Fair stage on August 3 at Riverdale Regional Park. They're scheduled to wrap up their stay at Riverdale Regional Park Aug. 6 at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The show features incredible juggling performances, hula hoops, unicycle aerial, contortion, and magic with audience engagement.
Viktoria Grimmy is a Tony award-winner in Pippin on Broadway. She has featured in a Hugh Jackman hit movie, The Greatest Showman, Britney Spears World Circus Tour, and the Burlesque movie.
The duo has appeared on the Jay Leno Tonight Show, Late Night with David Letterman, and traveled worldwide with a specular circus tent theatrical set performance on cruise ships, fairs, festivals, theaters, and universities.
Grimmy and Dubois's future goals are to continue performing worldwide.
"We mostly perform at arts centers, but whenever we can put up our tent, we love to perform at the fairs. It's our fifth year here at the Adams County Fair. It's one of the few places we like to do, and its worth it," Dubois said.
