Election 2021: Englewood candidates report first round of fundraising

At-large candidate Colecchi amends $300 discrepancy in report six days after filing

Posted
Mary Colecchi, who is running to be an at-large city council member in the ongoing Englewood mail-in election, initially had a $300 discrepancy in her campaign donations, according to her finance filings with the City of Englewood. She amended that report six days after filing it and said the discrepancy was over $300 she contributed to her campaign on Sept. 28, which she hadn't reported in her original filing.

Candidates reported their contributions and expenditures between Aug. 1 and Oct. 7 and filings were due Oct. 12.

Colecchi, in an email statement to Colorado Community Media, said the $300 she donated but initially did not report went toward campaign signs.

Colecchi reported a total of $745 in itemized contributions of $20 or more and $20 in non-itemized contribution of $19.99 and less for a total of $765. Colecchi spent $604.64 on campaign expenses and received $20 in non-itemized donations, her report shows.

Her opponent for the two-year at-large seat, former Englewood mayor Jim Woodward, blew past Colecchi in fundraising, reporting a total of $1,835 in contributions and spending of $452.98.

Cheryl Wink, an incumbent at-large councilmember running unopposed for reelection, filed her report three days late on Oct. 15. She reported no contributions and $140 in spending.

Chelsea Nunnenkamp, who is running unopposed for the District 2 position, raised $5,154 and spent $2,948.

Belinda Belt Porter, who is running against current at-large councilmember Steven Ward in the race to represent District 4, raised $885 and spent $920.87. Ward reported receiving no contributions and spending $540.26.

Joe Jefferson, who is running for reelection as Englewood's municipal judge, reported no donations and no spending.
